About Our Corporate Fairs and School Displays

Books Are Fun was founded by Earl Kaplan in 1991 in Fairfield, Iowa.  The company grew very successfully throughout the nineties partnering with over sixty thousand schools and over twenty thousand business institutions.  Books Are Fun offers amazing value and top-of the line books and gifts through its corporate fairs and school displays, which have contributed to supplementing school libraries and promoting literacy across the nation.

In 1999, Books Are Fun was sold to Reader's Digest.   A decade later, in 2009,  Books Are Fun was purchased back from Reader's Digest by original founder Earl Kaplan, who is currently  running  the company with his brother Gary and sons Steve and Ben and nephews Jason and Joe.

Books Are Fun is located in Louisville, Colorado.  Louisville features stunning views of the Flatirons and Indian Peaks and has been named the #1 place to live in America by Money Magazine.
