Buying Team
Earl Kaplan has formed his dream team of buyers and now Books are Fun's buying department is in full swing with a staff of buyers, buyer's assistants and an entire product testing department. The buying team works with over 275 vendors and publishers around the world. Earl oversees the buying department personally to ensure that the best possible products are being purchased to pass onto the reps to sell. He also encourages the buyers to work with the in-house Creative Team to design and build their own new products. These products are exclusive to us and are sure to boost excitement and sales at school displays and book fairs.
Sales Team
The Sales Team consists of a group of approximately 500 independent contractors. These representatives are the heart and soul of our business and receive around the clock support from regional managers in both the display and corporate fair divisions. The Vice President of the Corporate Fair division is Jim Burnett and the Vice President of the Display division is Tony Gilio.
IT Team
Our IT department works tirelessly serving over 75 employees at the Louisville, CO headquarters in addition to the 550+ managers and reps around the country. The IT department is available to employees and reps for assistance over 100 hours per week and all 7 days.
Accounting Team
Our Accounting team ensures accurate and timely operation of the financial aspects of the business.
- The Sales Accounting team is dedicated to supporting the sales reps through processing of weekly sales reports, calculating commissions, tracking rep credits and deductions, and providing customer service.
- Accounts Payable works closely with our vendors to ensure timely payment for goods received.
- The General Accounting group provides financial controls and accurate reporting of business results.
Operations Team
- Our Inbound Logistics Team is responsible for organizing and overseeing hundreds of international and domestic inbound shipments, every year. This inbound process requires effective communication amongst our buyers, vendors, freight forwarders, domestic truck lines, and Customs.
- Our Allocations Team is responsible for determining the proper inventory level of every product for each region. From there, the Allocations Team monitors inbound shipping progress for all new items, in order to ensure on-time availability to our rep force. The Allocations Team also reviews and allocates specialized titles to their appropriate regions, transfers inventory between regions and warehouses, and provides carryover inventory to each region, as needed.
- Our Customer Service Team is dedicated to insuring 100% customer satisfaction with all Books Are Fun products. Additionally, the team serves as a resource to the 500 sales representatives running our company book fairs and school displays. The team strives to resolve all customer service matters swiftly and accurately. The department consists of a group of experienced and knowledgeable representatives whose sole purpose is to provide outstanding customer service to both our customers and our sales reps. In other words, we are here to help YOU!
- Our Freight and Warehousing Team is responsible for managing our receiving, storage, and order fulfillment processes, including shipping direct to our 500 Sales Representatives. Our Freight and Warehousing Team's success requires effective coordination with our Inbound Logistics Team, our Allocations Team, our Inventory Release Team, our Regional Managers, and our Sale Representatives.
- Our Inventory Release Specialist Team work effectively to provide daily, one-on-one support to reps and their regional managers by processing orders, scheduling shipments, and helping the reps to maintain an accurate inventory account.
